CPM Roles

I'm looking for anyone who can provide more insight or details into what this role looks like in terms of career/comp trajectory/exit opps? Do HFs carry these types of roles?  I've received an offer at a value shop AM for a senior associate CPM role, and I've gathered that it's a "hybrid" position, wherein I sit on the investment team but more so as a bridge to distribution and relationship managers. It seems the expectation is to know the strategy as well as the PMs but have a more client-facing skillset to be a communicator/relationship manager. They've also stated I would be expected to get a CFA asap, which I'm happy to do. Total comp is 175.

They've mentioned that the path has some optionality, in that I could progress as a CPM (there are MD CPMs there), move to more direct sales/relationship roles, or MAYBE move into an investing position. I'm not personally 100% sure what I'm looking to do down the line, but would like to understand the general development path. Are there any senior level CPMs here that could share their experience?

There is very little I can find on the web regarding these roles.
