Does AM have exit opps? Or is it the exit opp?
Do equity research associates usually stay at large AM firms (Fidelity, T. Rowe, etc) until analyst or PM rank if not pushed out? If they decide to exit, do they have a chance to hustle and land at a top long/short equity hedge fund after 2-3 years as an ER associate? If so, does starting at an AM firm give candidates a leg up to these positions over IB analysts?
