Exit Oppurtunities to AM from Corp Finance at BB?

Hi everyone,

I recently received a summer internship offer in the Corporate Finance team at JPMorgan, which could lead to a spot in their 2-year rotational program if I perform well. After completing the program, I would become a "free agent" within the firm.

I’m particularly interested in transitioning into Asset Management (AM) or Corporate Development (Corp Dev) after the rotational program. I was wondering what that transition might look like and what steps I should take to make it happen.

Would it be possible to switch into AM or Corp Dev immediately after the rotational program, or would I need to spend additional time in corporate finance before pursuing that move? Additionally, would getting an MBA be necessary to break into these fields? I’ve taken courses in Investment Management and Valuations, but I’m not sure how much they would help in making this transition.
