F50 analytics internship, or small PE firm

Hi,

I am a rising senior at a target school and have a 3.3. I have an internship offer to do analytics (not finance related) for a F50 company, and another for a smaller search fund. I spoke to someone at the search fund who told me I would be able to get some modeling experience there(not just deal flow). They're both paid, but the analytics one is local but the other is not. I was wondering which of these positions would be more helpful for getting FT positions in finance (ideally AM) down the line.

Thank you

If I were you, I'd be more focused on which one of these two offer the best FT opportunity after the internship. You're going to be a senior and it'll be better to secure something before you graduate and then keep looking. Neither of these two are in the AM industry so you'll still need to break in, but it's easier to look while you have something in hand. Coming from a target, you can probably find a decent alumni base at your target firms to network in with.
