Family Office Compensation - 2021
Not a lot of recent information on family office compensation so I thought I'd start a thread. Post your comp or any info you heard from the grape vine
Role: 1st year analyst out of school
Market: Secondary (ie. Chicago/Washington)
Comp: $100K all in

1st year analyst: $107 total comp
3rd year at firm, 5th year out of college, all in comp ~125-130, 2ndary or 3tary city in us
Seems a little low. Was thinking 5 YOE would be closer to $200k+? How "secondary" is this city? Maybe $130 is really good for how low COL might be, idk
milwuakee denver minneapolis type area. i would agree its likely "low" but the type of work life balance and low stress environment makes up for it in spades. also can do side ventures, so the salary is really just for monthly expenses. side venture has been between 2x and 5x annual income over the last few years and i wouldn't be able to do that at a more intensive outfit.
if you break it down per hour, its like $67 (125k / 1880 hours a year) an hour, i dont think thats bad at all considering i get a lot of autonomy and fulfilling work, enjoyable coworkers and a good boss. if i worked 60 hours a week and no vacation that $67 is about $200k.
on target to break a mill in all in comp this year, 875 from side stuff, 125 from work
I don't mean to de-rail from the thread, but do you mind sharing your path to getting into a family office? That's pretty much a goal of mine well after graduation.
did s&t, went to a HF, kind of just wound up finding out about an opening from my network, interviewed and a month later had an offer.
3rd year at firm - $90k salary + $15k bonus, nyc
Going into my 4th year here, think I'm getting underpaid
~$3.5-4.5B multi strategy single FO (~90-100 employees) in the Midwest
AS1= $100+60
AS2= $110+65
AS3=$120+70
