Financial Analyst - what are you actually doing day to day?

I have read almost every thread I could find on this board relating to the general structure and organization of PWM firms. I understand the basic progression and structure but am still a bit fuzzy on what exactly the tasks given to analysts are. If anyone could shine some light on the type of workload an analyst is given compared to an associate that would be greatly appreciated.
