Fixed Income Interview - Current quirks?
Hi all,
I have an interview soon for an every level role for UK/EU credit team.
So I've researched this forum and internet for classic FI questions, and I got my Fabozzi handbook to cover the basics.
What I'm wondering is your thoughts on current FI/Euro Economy quirks that are particular talking points/questions they might throw at me? I've got that Italy 10Y is yielding less than 10Y treasury and negative corp bond yields, for instance.
Thanks
Idk how helpful this is.. but the US yield curve is getting very flat. Also, most credit funds aren’t doing strictly sovereign debt. So the credit spreads are also important.
Yeah I have got that in my notes thanks, got a neat note for that on Friedman's interest rate fallacy too.
I'm American, but heres what I would say:
USD strength and UST 2y vs 2y Schatz spread are huge talking points.
End of QE.(Different from US b/c of the credit aspect).
macro HY/IG broadly. Know the FI benchmarks for EU funds.
