Follow up email after year end discussion?
Hi everyone,
I work in the technology dept. of a large FI company. I had my year end discussion with my department head today where we talked about my year end compensation. I had already discussed the matter with my direct line manager so I guess the dept head had already heard about it. He disarmed me by mentioning first that he has looked at my comp and agrees that I'm underpaid.
I had prepared a few points about why I deserve a raise (the amt of money I saved, the increase in responsibility and me being the top performer for the past some years) but I never got to mention them. We didn't mention any numbers and I think I was quick to capitulate on a promise. Now I'm wondering if I should shoot him a brief follow up email listing those points and attaching my year's perf. summary and past few years' managers comments. I hope it's not too much?
By the way, I only got until tomorrow. Any later than that would be too late. So, your quick responses & thoughts will be much appreciated.
Best,
