EM corporates will almost certainly have more issuance increase in the medium-term future. So the industry as a whole will likely be better there. That said, how good you are will determine how far you go more than any secular trend, so if you think you have a passion and/or ability for one over the other, I'd go with that.
OP, did you land your current job through columbia sipa or your own networking and legwork? I'm assuming that very few of your classmates were able to break into good finance jobs?
