Groups within JPM IM (Fixed Income)?

Hello everyone,

I want to know which groups within the JPM IM fixed income division will provide me the best learning experience? I heard that all the product groups are all pretty good but I won't know where I will be placed until later. I am looking for a place where I can be challenged and learn a lot from.

Also, a friend also mentioned that I should aim to be a buy-side research analyst and not a portfolio management analyst because it has zero exit opportunity...how true is this? Can someone please evaluate what types of exit opportunities are there for JPM IM?

Long term goal: hedge fund, portfolio management, prefers something more quantitative.

Any comments will be appreciated. WSO has been extremely helpful. :) Thanks!
