GSE Capital Markets Internship

Hi, I'm going to be interning for one of the GSEs (Fannie/Freddie) in their capital markets group. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience working at one of the GSEs.

I'm worried that if I want to pursue another avenue of finance, it might pigeonhole me. If I get a return offer, what is the general opinion of starting out in GSE capital markets? Also, if I don't get an offer, what other opportunities would I be eligible to look for as a FT position?
