Help! Am I making a mistake? Ops to Client Reporting/Services

Hello everyone,

First post here, hopefully you guys can help.

I've been a fund accountant for the past 4.5 years at a mid-sized Asset Management firm working on fund of funds. I really don't see this as a long-term career and hope to one day move to front office.

3 months ago, I informed our COO that I was interested in doing something different. There's a opening on the Client Relations team doing client reporting/servicing and would allow me to get my Series 7 and 66 and they really want me to move

Is this a good or bad move for me? Should I take the position, get certified in hopes of opening other doors down the line?

Will a Series 7 and 66 license look good on my resume?

Thanks so much.
