Help needed!

I just accepted an offer to for an operations rotation program at a top insurer/investment manager that I currently work for. That was all I could land during FT recruiting, so I accepted. I’m not happy with it since it doesnt put me on the path of where I'd like to work-in real estate investment management. Before accepting I interviewed for a position with the same company’s real estate group but the position was ultimately put on hold.

I checked the company's website and found that the position was just re-posted. I want this position, but I already accepted an offer. What do I do?

Should I reach out to the recruiter to see if I’m eligible (we've established a good relationship) or will that make me look bad? If I show interest in an interview, can they revoke my offer or will I not even be eligible to interview?

Thanks for the help!

Go for it. Operations isn't what you want to do and RE is where your heart is. If you get it just give notice. Don't expect to go back to whatever company you've excepted the operations program though.
