How did you break into asset management?

Worked in backoffice at a big bank as a project manager. Our clients were investment managers. After a project was done with a client, I asked them if they were looking for analysts/research associates. One of their analysts left to his MBA and were looking for a young cheap analyst. After a few interviews which included a stock pick, I was hired as a research associate https://trackeasy.fun/usps/ https://showbox.tools/.

So yes, luck but also I reached out a lot to buy-side firms and eventually I got lucky and here I am.
