How do you make an Asset Management Firm?

I am currently eighteen and I have seldom any financial education and no financial reputation. I dropped out of college and am self-teaching myself Web Development -- after I have become competent in Web Development I will get a job and invest in Real Estate. Then, after awhile, once I gather enough capital to rent out enough homes in Real Estate I will live in a studio apartment. By that time I intend on investing the rest of my life in the pursuit of starting a successful Asset Management firm.

Now I recognize that this is only a dream as of right now and that saying my goals is far easier than achieving them -- but can anyone give me some direction on how to start an Asset Management Firm once I am financially free? I am also willing to study the CFA I-III, study college textbooks, get appropriate licensing, and make a life-long investment of time into this sort of a business.

P.S. I dropped out of college and will not consider going back.
