IM Ops SA vs. BB Microcredit Fund SA

I have two SA offers, one in the Business Support/Treasury Ops group in the IM division of a large financial services firm outside of NYC and the other is in the Microfinance/microcredit fund division of a BB. What would you pick and why? BTW the IM job pays much better.

MIcrofinance sounds much better to me. But it depends on what you're looking for from the job I suppose.

I've done a lot of microfinance work and highly recommend it. MF is an unproven business model in the US (it works in other parts of the world, but its success is very culture-specific). Working with these unique challenges in a growing field that few people know anything about makes for great conversations. It was probably the biggest talking point in my interviews and was hands-down the differentiator for me. It will be helpful in whatever you want to pursue. PM for more info.

It's true and I completely agree. I have also seen some really solid IRRs on some of these projects.
