Importance of BB/Good Team for LO Recruiting

Dead set on moving to an LO, could not be less interested in pods. I’m currently at a MM/boutique (tier 2.5/3) in NY since I liked my multi-industry coverage. I’ve been networking and people who made the jump have said they all got their jobs from networking/headhunters, not by leveraging any client relationships. It seems like being at a top team is not as important relative to HF recruiting. Is this true or am I missing any recruiting opportunities by not being at a BB/II-ranked team?
