Is it normal for nobody to talk?

Hi, all. I want to get a quick reality check on my internship this summer and how normal it is for the industry. I am finishing a few weeks of the internship and I have realized I only talk to coworkers/boss for about 2 hours total during a week. The whole investment team of less than 10 plus me and the other intern is in office full time, but we may as well not be. Nobody really talks to each other besides the meeting we do on zoom. All work and feedback (besides one in person meeting) is conducted via email and I can go whole days without saying anything besides "hi" to people. I should add it's not just me; the whole team doesn't really talk to each other much either. I'm not a supper extraverted person but I feel like it would be normal to have regular conversation during the day. So, I would like some general input and I have a few questions I hope to get some feedback on:

How much do investment teams talk in your experience?

How common is it to not talk to anyone for more than 2 min a day in an internship?

Just my experience - I worked at a small IB shop and it was exactly as you described. We all had our own offices and other than saying hello, really not a lot of chatter. I agree it felt weird. A little too transactional of a relationship and not enough of a personal connection with my boss. I knew this wasn't a long term plan, so I was actually pretty happy about the quiet culture. Cause generally I fuckin hate people
