Jackson National Sales Career

I'm about to graduate from college and have been recommended to Jackson National through a mutual friend. I like the idea of internal wholesaler/transition into external but don't know a lot about the annuity business/current market since interest rates are still at historic lows. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Is this a good company to work for?

Good products good company. I'm an FA (or someone that you would be marketing to / supporting). Wholesaling is a good career and can be quite lucrative. VAs are a mixed bag as you'll find a good swatch of advisors use them (like me) and a bunch don't (as they don't really understand them and see the value beyond the fees). FOundational piece to many income based retirement plans.

I've been an external wholesaler and own a hybrid wholesale / retail shop. Good externals can easily make 500k+ (used to be a Mil+ but everything has gotten squeezed.) Internal will be ina  corporate setting with lots of camaraderie and competition (sales). External, you live int he territory and work it pretty hard meeting with FAs as often as possible (like 20 face to face meetings per week with some dinners and evening client workshops). SOme on this board think it's an easy gig. It's not. You have to grind it AND actually perform but for those good with sales, relationship skills, and knowledge it's a pretty strong life.

Highs and lows though as territories get cut / change. products come and go,e tc. All about the relationships you build along the way!
