Jobs that lead to AM
I was wondering if anyone knows of jobs, after undergrad, that can lead into AM? Is it common to break in from a MO or BO position?

Career Resources
Pretty much the traditional finance positions bro. From what I've seen Equity Research is the number 1 feeder to Asset MGMT followed by IB. AM is a bit more varied than IB so there will be people with unique backgrounds but ER & IB are the surest paths to investment positions in AM.
If you network hard enough you can get right in from undergrad. Some of the seniors analysts that I have been around have come from IB, but most hires are now from OCR (this is a very firm specific view). ER would be an obvious option, but landing in AM is more about finding the opportunities and having a connection than it is about having a certain experience since it's a tight-knight community.
OCR?
On campus recruiting. Most of the big traditional asset managers (e.g. Fidelity, Wellington, T. Rowe, Putnam) now get a majority of their new associates from undergraduate intern classes.
sorry I'm a bit slow! Interesting how AM is turning more into IB in terms of undergrad recruiting
