JP Morgan Placement Areas

Applying for JP Morgan Chase Asset Management Product Sophomore Summer Analyst position, and I'm given the option to choose between investor analyst and banker analyst placement areas. Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what is the difference in these roles/general responsibilities within asset management?

Bankers own the relationship with the client and are also responsible for bringing in new clients. Goal is to bring in as much new capital as possible

Investors are the once pitching investment ideas to the client and are responsible for portfolio management of the clients portfolio. Goal is to provide good returns so existing clients invest more

I have lots of insight into this role and interview process. The rankings you put down actually mean nothing, and your resume will only be sent to the top choice group you put down, so be sure of it. This role is not easy by any means and is very difficult to recruit for. Make sure you have lots of vba/coding experience as this is a huge component of the job (mainly if you're in equities)
