LO Associate Comp
Hi I recently started a LO Family Office after 3 years of SS ER (post uni). Would love to hear how comp stacks up relative to others across LO funds. Base sits at 150k with bonus hopefully between 25-75%. Any color would be much appreciated. Happy to discus more below. Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, compensation in a Family Office can be quite diverse compared to a traditional fund. While your base and bonus compensation might be comparable or even lower than a similarly sized fund, there are often "extras" that can make up for this in the long run.
These extras can include profit sharing from the entire portfolio, co-invest opportunities, carried interest in deals you work on, phantom equity, pension, and other deferred compensation plans. In some cases, the family might even offer a sizable loan to invest in deals they are investing in.
So, while your base sits at 150k with a bonus between 25-75%, remember to consider these additional benefits when comparing your compensation to others. They can significantly boost your overall compensation package over time.
Remember, the goal in a Family Office is to align your interests with the family's, so your compensation structure should reflect that.
