Merrill Training Costs ( FADP )?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I went through a series of interviews, and received a verbal confirmation that I am accepted into the FADP program. I'm waiting on the written letter. However, I recently found out that Merrill may seek reimbursement for training costs. I have NO intention of jumping from Merrill to another brokerage firm. However, the price tag that I have been reading (38k!!!) scares the bejeesus out of me. I don't have that kind of money.

Here's to the real question: Do the training costs have to be paid back AFTER you receive a production number (so, after having successfully passed the exams)? Or before? What if I start the program and absolutely hate it within the first week - will Merrill attempt to sue me for 38k?

tl;dr At what point could Merrill sue me for 38 in training fees?

I appreciate your input, guys.
