Move from manager selection to Country analyst EMD?

Hello WSO,

I posted a while ago about working in manager selection for a pension fund and being 32, whether it meant my career is over.

I now have been given the opportunity to move internally to an investment role for an emerging markets debt active mandate of roughly $300m, sovereign and quasi sovereign. The role would be country analyst. The thing is we know our clients are all moving to passive and at some point the mandate will be axed, roughly 2 years. The pay would be roughly the same or maybe even slightly more. I have a mortgage and quite some expenses so I don't know whether I'll be able to take that hit, but I've always thought I would like to move to the fixed income world as an analyst or PM.

Happy to hear some thoughts or advice from people who have maybe been through something similar.
