WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?!

I honestly have tried my hardest to figure this out but I can’t:

What is the difference between the MSIM Equity Team and the MSIM Equity Research Group?

How do their daily tasks and responsibilities differ?

How does one decide which route is they’re best suited for?

Will the career trajectory be different starting in either role?

 Thank you

If I had to guess, the equity research team does the deep dive research into the various microstructures/sectors within equity markets and come up with outlooks on the equity market. The equity team probably helps create equity portfolios for institutional clients and uses the equity research team’s research to help with capital allocation in the equity portfolio. As for researching individual stocks, I’m not too sure which team is in charge of it but I would assume the equity team to be in charge of it.
