Nippon Alternative Investment Manager - Buy Side

Anyone familiar with this firm?

They have offices in NY. Seems like they have a huge presence in Japan but have a decently sized investment arm in NY.

If you are talking about Nippon Life's asset management arm, I interviewed with them before. I remember it was literally just one guy running the entire portfolio. I think it's the surplus capital that is not tied to the insurance liabilities (the assets that tied to insurance are of course bonds and less risk equities).

The PM seems pretty smart, had a few analysts working for him from some random places (one from Manning and Napier if I remember correctly).

If not, forget everything I just said.
