PGIM Internal Move?

Hi all, I will be joining one of the arms of PGIM in the summer but was wondering, have any of you guys ever done an internal move there and is this even possible? E.g private debt to real estate or fixed income to quantitative solutions.

Thanks for the insight!

I moved from direct lending (bank debt) to PGIM RE lending. Think it is easy to move within PGIM but teams are very very lean and hiring is needs based. Best approach would be to tell your boss and reach out to people in the team you want to move to.

Will also add, have met several people within the firm that have moved around a decent amount.

It's probably easier if you know the people than if you are external.  (Looks out window at the two Pru/PGIM buildings)  I Presume you'd be in Newark?

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Actually will be in London, I know the analyst programme is 3 years so I guess its not really something I need to thing about right now but was interested just because cause my internship background in finance hasn't exactly been the most committed to one specific field.

Worked at PGIM REF/RE. Definitely agree that internal transfers are need based, tough, but not impossible, with some politics involved, but I’m a bit jaded based on my time there. That being said, private to private (PPC to PGIM RE) would definitely be easier than private to public (PGIM RE to PGIM Fixed Income/QMA/Jennison). Unless you’re very well networked or you’re related to someone high up I the food chain, it could be tough.
