PIMCO Prep
PIMCO Prep invites were just sent out. It is a 5 hour virtual session/program mid-April. I was wondering if anyone has gone through it, and if it will materially help in the SA process.
I have read mixed things about PIMCO Prep - one person saying it's not selective, and then right under that comment someone else stating that a 4.0 ivy kid didn't get in. Don't really know what to expect from the program.
4.0 Ivy doesn't mean much, it doesn’t matter how difficult it is. Just try your hardest and don’t compare yourself.
Certainly doesn’t hurt as it shows some interest in the firm, but doubt it’s a huge leg up in the SA interview process.
Can’t speak too much for teams outside of RE, but from my experience as well as what I’ve read from others have heard PIMCO really looks for people with a deep, genuine interest in their industry- much more so than most of the BBs undergrad typically recruit at where attendance of some prep program is a bigger deal.
Heard from HR only 100 kids were selected this year for PIMCO prep. They're hiring undergrads for investment roles now so it's become even more competitive.

Yea not sure why they are hyping PIMCO prep up. The real challenge is landing the undergrad investment position they have / MBA PM roles.
