PIMCO SA 2026

I have a hirevue for PIMCO Alternatives Asset Management and for Private Strategies as well. Would anyone be wiling to share questions if they did the hirevue? I've been rejected from so many places I really want to nail this one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Especially since I believe this HV counts as their first round.

For your PIMCO Alternatives Asset Management and Private Strategies HireVue, here's what you need to know based on the most helpful WSO content:

  1. Common HireVue Questions:

    • Why are you interested in PIMCO and this specific division (Alternatives Asset Management or Private Strategies)?
    • What makes you a good fit for this role?
    • Describe a time you worked in a team to solve a problem.
    • Tell us about a time you faced a complex problem and how you resolved it.
    • What factors do you think are currently influencing financial markets, and how might they impact PIMCO's clients?
  2. Preparation Tips:

    • Research PIMCO: Understand their investment philosophy, recent deals, and focus areas in Alternatives and Private Strategies. Highlight how your skills align with their goals.
    • Behavioral Questions: Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Be concise and focus on results.
    • Market Knowledge: Be ready to discuss recent market trends, especially in alternative investments and private strategies. Show that you understand how these trends could impact PIMCO's strategies.
    • Practice: Record yourself answering potential questions to improve your delivery and confidence.
  3. Technical Knowledge:

    • Be prepared to discuss valuation methods, risk management, and portfolio construction, as these are often relevant in asset management roles.
    • If asked about a recent transaction or investment, choose one that aligns with PIMCO's focus and explain why it interests you.
  4. HireVue Specifics:

    • You may have limited time to prepare and record your answers (e.g., 30 seconds to prepare, 90 seconds to respond). Practice staying within these time limits.
    • Ensure your environment is quiet, well-lit, and professional.

Remember, confidence and preparation are key. Good luck, and nail that HireVue!
