Hard to leave a PIP after getting onto one. It's just an excuse for them to fire you later on. Highly suggest you start interviewing elsewhere. I tried to fight it when I got it in my 1st / 2nd year but they just kept extending it so I realised it was bogus. I left right before bonuses came out and everyone that was on a PIP was fired immediately after bonus.
Rotating internally won't help at all.
Why did you leave before bonuses? Didn’t you want to stay to get your bonus?
