Poll: 85K or 70K salary as AM analyst?

This question is to all 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, and Incoming analysts in AM. Applies to both non-BB and BB analysts.

Is your salary 85k or 70k? And if it is 85k, was it moved up from 70k previously?

I don't have any pay specifics, but I have heard from a couple people that Goldman's SLC office is pretty much the only place that has a sub-industry pay for a regional office. Equity research starts at around $60k a year base, compared to 75k for other regional offices. I have heard AM comp is a little higher, but I don't have any specifics.

SLC based programs end up being a ticket into analyst programs at primary locations, so also a longer time to get to the same point. On the flip side, much less competition to get into an SLC program right out of school.
