Private Banking Compensation-
Hey all, After a lot of research into the different industries of finance I thought private banking (AWM) would be one I look to pursue. I understand that a first year analyst at a bank like JPM PB makes around 100k before bonus and the bonus ranges from 20-40k. And that a summer analyst makes similar rates just hourly. I haven’t found much information on how compensation looks for positions like associate, VP, ED, and MD at a BB PB (ex: JPM PB). So I’m wondering what comp looks like for someone in these positions. I work in Private Wealth, happy to chat more about it but typically Associate goes up to $120k, VP somewhere between $150-$200k and then on up! Bonuses will vary across bank and market conditions.
Thank you for the insight. Very broad question but for example a BB PB what does an average bonus on an ok year look like? And as an ED or MD is most of ur salary from bonus?
An analyst's year 1 bonus would likely be around $10-$25k. As for further down the line, yes a large chunk of your income comes from the bonus although you still would have your salary increasing incrementally each year.
Work in BB PB group - Salary: Associates (depending on seniority) 135K - $200K. VPs start at $200K.
