Private Banking SA @ BB | Moving to a different region after SA?

Hello everyone! This is my first post on WSO. I recently received an offer to join the Private Banking team of a BB in Washington, DC as a Summer Analyst. However, I've lived my entire life in the NYC metro area and I really want to start my career in the NYC area as well. So, I've asked the recruiter (once during the superday and another time upon receiving the offer) if I could pursue a full-time offer in the NYC office, and he said yes. I think it'd be a great experience if I could do some traveling since COVID absolutely destroyed my study abroad plans, but I don't want to move to DC for a full-time job.

However, I would like to know just how realistic that really is. That is, if I take this offer to do Private Banking in DC as a Summer Analyst, would it be realistically possible for me to win a full-time return offer in NYC, or is this lowkey wishful thinking/technically possible, but don't count on it?
