Salaries in Asset Management

I am a Product Manager in the tech industry (silicon valley) with a base salary of 170K and all in compensation of 200K.

I am looking into move into Asset Management post my MBA. I am particularly interested in finance post-MBA but I am curious about the salaries in asset management. Equity research and asset management both interest me.

Could someone help me understand the salaries in asset management from analyst through director at firms such as TD etc.

Thanks

I work at an alt asset manager (high yield bonds and loans) and not a traditional mutual fund but I would guess post-MBA starting compensation is near your current comp ($150-200K depending on AUM) with a much higher potential trajectory but minus the options of your tech co. Within 5 years, assuming you are progressing, you should have senior coverage of a specific industry/sector and at least double your starting comp, if not 3x or more.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
