Schroeders Wealth Management Graduate Assessment Centre

I have an AC coming up for the Schroders WM Graduate programme. I was wondering if anyone could please shed some insight into what to expect on the day, especially with regards to the nature of the mini case study, group exercise and competency interviews. How technical would these be?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights into what you might expect during the Schroders Wealth Management Graduate Assessment Centre:

  1. Mini Case Study:

    • Nature: Typically, these are designed to assess your analytical and problem-solving skills. You might be given a scenario related to wealth management and asked to analyze data, identify key issues, and propose solutions.
    • Technicality: The case study might not be extremely technical but will require a good understanding of financial concepts and the ability to interpret data effectively.
  2. Group Exercise:

    • Nature: This exercise usually involves working with other candidates to solve a problem or discuss a topic. It assesses your teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Technicality: The focus is more on how you interact with the group rather than deep technical knowledge. However, having a basic understanding of wealth management concepts can be beneficial.
  3. Competency Interviews:

    • Nature: These interviews are designed to assess your fit for the role and the company. Expect questions about your past experiences, strengths, weaknesses, and motivations for applying to Schroders.
    • Technicality: While these interviews are primarily behavioral, you should be prepared to discuss any technical skills or knowledge relevant to the role. Understanding key financial concepts and being able to articulate your experiences clearly will be important.

For more detailed preparation, you might want to review specific financial modeling resources, Excel resources, and consulting case interview prep materials available on WSO. Good luck with your assessment centre!

I did the Investment AC for Summer last year and got the offer. It is not too technical but obviously have market news stories prepared and provide your views on them. It is a long day so just remain persistent I guess. Group Exercise is fine and Case Study make sure you just take concise notes that you can talk around. If you do all of that then it will be fine.
