How is SF for lifestyle? Trying to decide between nyc or sf. I’ve done basic research but curious to hear any thoughts.

Used to have a poor rep as a pitching shop, but that’s slowly changing with the hiring of new MDs and expanding the group. Work particularly well in semis and the analyst classes are lean. A lot of capital raising with some M&A exposure. Can get good looks into UMM/HF, know analysts who went to Vector Capital, Surveyor Capital, JMI, TCV.
Thanks for the info! Are there expected turnovers given the bad bonuses? And do you or did you work in the team?
Expected turnover given (in the past) really poor deal flow. As I mentioned, citi SF used to be known as a pitching shop, so analysts lateraled our because of poor deal experience. Also, Citi is notorious for paying low bonuses- I’m sure that contributed as well.

Is this true for both semis and software or just software?
Citi is not good in semis. Massive turnover on the semis team from top to bottom. Strongest is software. And very few analysts left for HFs - I can only think of two that directly went to a hedge fund in the past 4 years, but happy to be wrong here.
Thanks for the input. Would you say that this is true nowadays or is this more of a few years back theme? I heard Citi semis is slowly winning more deals.
