If you genuinely enjoy investing in companies than you'll find happiness in working at PE/VC/HF. If your work makes you happy you'll do infinitesimally than the next guy. 1.You can most certainly enjoy college and land an IB gig at Goldman Sachs or whichever firm is the flavor of the month. It's all about discipline and some sacrifices. Instead of getting drunk 4 nights a week maybe only 2 or 3. 2. If you're going to to do an internship at PWM firm your hours are gonna be pretty good. 9am - 6pm with no weekends. You'll still easily enjoy your summer while gaining "valuable" experience. 3.
