Below is the description for the position:

• Facilitate new business development by assisting the US institutional sales team in their projects and day-to-day tasks including: • Strategic Targeting: Research, build and deploy competitive and market intelligence by identifying market trends and opportunities • Create a process to diligently circulate markets news across the team to ensure our salespeople are properly briefed • Proactively manage and support pre- and post-meeting tasks • Client Relationship Management (CRM) system – assist with data requests, data scrubbing and building queries • Ad hoc projects – including helping with campaigns and sales initiatives

no - definitely looks like a marketing/low-level strategy position. You should be sitting next to the trading floor, and you might be assisting salespeople with developing client pitch material. Not FO in that you're not the SA equivalent of a salesperson/trader, but def an interesting opportunity.
