What am I doing?

I was fortunate enough to land a sophomore internship this summer for the investment section of a very large insurance company (the investment group manages ~100 billion) in fixed income - credit structured assets. When I was interviewing there were a lot of different people I talked to (municipals, investment grade corporates, junk bonds, treasuries, private placements), but I am unsure of which division I was placed into.

Is structured assets a group of it's own? Is it part of another group? Also, if anybody has any knowledge of what it's like working in the investment part of an insurance firm/what I will most likely be doing, I would appreciate any and all feedback.

Sincerely,

A young and eager to learn primate
