Wholesaler Salary At Top Tier Firms

I have been an internal wholesaler for the past 3 years. I have been contacted by a rather large firm and I am debating leaving my current employer as I don’t believe they pay their externals enough. As I want to be an external, this is something I am weighing heavily. I am investing a lot of time trying to make sure I am positioning myself correctly, this includes taking the CFA and I am currently a level II candidate.

I’ve heard through word of mouth what other firms pay their externals; however, does anyone have any insight at top tier firms like a BlackRock or JP? Thanks in advance!

Top tier active or top tier passive? Those are apples and oranges.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
