Asking Intelligent Questions

I'm a sophomore. Never had an internship and have limited amounts of knowledge about consulting as a whole.

How do I ask good questions after information sessions? I know I shouldn't ask stuff that can be Googled.
What are some good ways to become knowledgable about companies + industries?

Start reading the newspapers and start familiarizing yourself with all the concepts and what the important issues these days are. Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg - these are all good places to start.

Also, people actually appreciate curiosity as well in information sessions. If someone talks about something that sounds interesting and you would genuinely like to know more, just ask it. It would flatter them more.

Research the company and ask a particular question ab5their activities or how they go about in one of their lines of service.. you can typically open with a question that shows you've put in effort to research then as you take in the info come up with one or two well thought out questions and tell them that you're interested im them and also about (elevator pitch type thing)
