I'm not an expert, but I worked at a Big 4 RX group for a bit before joining a boutique in RX CO. What I'd say is that the Big 4 have enough of a brand name to get you interviews/enough credibility for most opportunities. The difference is that you'll likely have "lower tier" exit opps compared to if you're at A&M or something.

For example, one guy I worked with left to do some sort of distressed investing thing, but it definitely wasn't at a name-brand firm. Additionally, if you ever want to move upstream for the comp, etc., you'll definitely get interviews at the Top 3 from the Big 4. My firm had a massive exodus of people leaving to A&M, Alix, etc. after a Partner left and people were unhappy with the bonuses, despite a very good year.

If you don't have any boutique offers, Big 4 is a very good option. That said, because of the Big 4 BS and the bureaucracy, I'd pick most reputable or growing boutiques over Big 4 any day. If that's your only RX CO opp though, it's not the worst place to be, and it might even be helpful if you want to exit to corporate down the road thanks to the layperson prestige.

Thanks a lot. At first I was aiming at Debt Advisory, unfortunately I didn't get any offers and then landed one in the orange Big4 RX group.

Gotcha. I don't know much about them, but restructuring is a small world. I'd do it and then maybe look to swim upstream in a year to 18 months if you like the work but want to do more debtor-side work, etc. It's very hard to find people with prior restructuring experience, so I don't think it's unreasonable to move up the chain with that + the Big 4 branding.
