Bocconi-Fudan MIM or ESCP-Shanghai Jiao Tong MIM

Hi everyone,
I'd like to work in Management Consulting later (probably first in Asia and then in the EU).
I wanted to hear your opinions on these two programs in order to join MBB.
I also wanted to ask if some of you had some insights on the Schwartzman program of tsinghua on its selectivity and usefulness.
ESCP Pros :
- Gap year possibility (two 6 months internship) (not at bocconi)
- easier networking (since I'm french)
- many specializations and campuses
Bocconi Pros :
- seems to be a better brand overall (except for France I guess)
- 6 month internship at the end of year 2
- opportunity to learn Italian (already speak french + spanish)
Since both are amazing uni, I'd love to hear opinions in terms of career prospects and chances of breaking in the industry.
Many thanks !

When considering the Bocconi-Fudan MIM and the ESCP-Shanghai Jiao Tong MIM for a career in Management Consulting, especially with an aim to join MBB (McKinsey, Bain, and BCG), it's crucial to weigh the pros of each program in light of your career goals and personal preferences. Here's a breakdown based on the most helpful WSO content:

ESCP-Shanghai Jiao Tong MIM Pros: - Gap Year Possibility: The opportunity to undertake two 6-month internships is invaluable for gaining practical experience, building your resume, and networking within the industry. This could significantly enhance your profile for MBB recruitment. - Easier Networking: Being French and studying in a program with a strong French connection could facilitate easier networking opportunities, not just in Asia but also when you decide to move back to the EU. - Many Specializations and Campuses: The flexibility to specialize in areas of your interest and the option to study in different campuses can provide a broader educational experience and exposure to diverse business cultures.

Bocconi-Fudan MIM Pros: - Brand Recognition: Bocconi has a strong brand reputation globally, which can be a significant advantage when applying to top-tier management consulting firms. Its partnership with Fudan also adds value, given Fudan's reputation in Asia. - 6-Month Internship: While shorter than ESCP's gap year, a 6-month internship at the end of year 2 still offers a solid opportunity to gain relevant experience and make industry connections. - Opportunity to Learn Italian: Knowing multiple languages is a valuable asset in the global consulting industry. Adding Italian to your linguistic repertoire, especially when you already speak French and Spanish, could set you apart in the job market.

Regarding the Schwarzman Scholars Program at Tsinghua University: This program is highly selective, seeking leaders who can demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities, and the potential to bridge cultural and political differences. It's designed to prepare graduates to contribute to global understanding and cooperation. While not directly mentioned in the context, the prestige and network associated with the Schwarzman Scholars could be incredibly beneficial for a career in management consulting, especially for roles that require a deep understanding of global issues.

Conclusion: Both programs offer unique advantages. Your choice might depend on where you see the most value for your career path—whether it's the brand and internship at Bocconi-Fudan or the networking ease, gap year, and specialization options at ESCP-Shanghai Jiao Tong. For breaking into MBB, both paths can be viable, but consider which program aligns better with your personal strengths, language skills, and career aspirations. Networking, internships, and the reputation of your chosen program will be key factors in achieving your goal.
