MA Economics --> Consulting(economic)
is this a viable route?
i come from a lesser known UG with a major in finance, i have no relevant internships or work experience. I really want to go into consulting/economic consulting (nera, cornerstone, etc) but I think i have to rebrand myself. was considering claremont or USC's MA econ program
anybody have any sort of insight?
thanks in advance
Very viable, my housemate actually did exactly this. Economics Masters at a top target and then into Economic Consulting in London. He did do internships, although they weren't in consulting.
Not to redirect OP's thread, but what are the exit opps like for economic consulting vs. management consulting?
Could you elaborate a little more on your roommates background? pm me if its private, thank you
If you mean Claremont Grad, avoid it. It is NOT Claremont McKenna. Shittier school.
USC's program sounds ok. But MA Econ recruiting is WEAK.
op here, is there a huge different between cl remont mckenna and the graduate school? is it just the prestige?
I hope it's a viable route, because that's what I'm planning to do. I have an MA Econ and am looking to go into econ consulting. I have two good friends who currently work in top tier econ consulting firms, both of whom first got MAs in economics (one in London, one from my school but currently in Argentina). So, I don't know whether it's ideal or not, but it certainly seems doable.
