MBA Foresight
Hey all,
I'm a fresh college undergrad (BBA, with MIS) and about to start work in mgmt consulting for a Big 4 this winter, after interning for one this past summer. I don't really know if I want to get my MBA, as from what I've read an MBA is useful if you want to switch careers or if you need an MBA to be credible for the higher-ups. I'm pretty happy with the area I landed in, but as I haven't officially started I want to know whether I should prepare for an MBA now (take the GMAT, up my stats), or take a wait-and-see approach and see if an MBA is right for me. I know MBB requires you to get your grad degree to move up, can the same be said for Big 4 management consulting?
Thanks for any input.
Focus on doing well at work. You've got a few years before the MBA decision.
should i just get the GMAT out of the way while I have some free time now though? or wait and see what I want to do first, i feel like taking the GMAT now might be a problem just because it would expire in 5 years, and i would be in my mid twenties by then.
Wait to take the GMAT. You typically can't get into a top MBA program anyway unless you have 3-4 years of work experience, which means senior year is a great time to do the GMAT.
