MBB Los Angeles

Headed to Stanford GSB this fall and for personal/family reasons I would prefer LA overall as a city to work in. I’d be fine with SF, but LA would be my first choice.

I’m thinking it may be less competitive than SF (less applications overall and practically none from GSB, only one application last year), but I’ve also heard that the offices are very small and the MBA class is very small (<10).

What do you guys think makes more sense, applying to SF (where most GSBers apply) or to LA, considering LA MAY be harder to get due to smaller office size?

I would argue it's a little easier to get into smaller offices because there's less competition. Less fewer spots, but also fewer people going for them.

Our Bain LA office is maybe ~300-ish people, but so you know, there's a lot of media / entertainment work going on over there, in case that's a factor.

Besides media/entertainment, what other cases do you guys work on?
