This question is not specific enough to have an answer, but I’ll try. They remain almost identical, except McKinsey has more brand recognition in the general public and is slightly larger. This has been the case for a while now and hasn’t changed it any meaningful way. They both work on the same type of cases, exit opps are identical, “prestige” is higher at McK, McK is slightly more hardo. In terms of growth and revenue, we can’t say since only BCG has released their figures but no reason to assume much has changed.

In terms of recruiting (which I suspect is the angle of this question), nothing has changed. You should think McK > BCG, but it’s close enough that if you prefer BCG for some reason then you’re not making a mistake.

Still two of the best names you can have on your resume, with McKinsey having the slight edge in reputation. McKinsey is still the face of consulting and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon

I had this dilemma when deciding whether to follow through with a McKinsey interview or accept BCG offer. Personally, I went with BCG because the people I talked too seemed nicer, less full of themselves, and I knew more people at BCG. This was personal experience though so you may conclude differently.

From my research, the overall opinion though is that the difference in career prospects/prestige is marginal at best. McKinsey potentially travels more and has potentially quicker career progression.
