Should I choose a full-time entry level role in Strategy and Transactions at EY or an Internship in Sustainable Finance at Allianz Global Investors (appx $650b AUM)?

I already have some internship experience in private equity consulting and my long-term goal is to join a private equity firm or a private equity practice at MBB.

EY role would be a lot of commercial diligence, financial diligence, M&A target screening, whereas the 6 month internship at Allianz Global Investors would be focused on sustainable finance, doing research for new investments and monitoring performance of exiting investments - mostly equity.

Insignificant honestly. Allianz internship pay is a bit lower but still pretty good for an internship, EY pay is average entry level.

It’s worth mentioning Allianz position would be in HCOL financial center, EY would be in smaller city.

How is it obvious? He can actually go directly from EY to PE (only LMM but still) while I don't see how some sustainability bullshit is relevant to actual PE work.

So, Allianz position would be a 6 month internship with the Sustainable Investments team (I'm a recent grad) - primarily monitoring the performance of previous investments and doing research to support the team in finding new investment opportunities - technically I would be on the deal team but not as a full-time analyst.

At EY, I'd be a full-time employee working within their M&A advisory department (now called Consulting, Strategy & Transactions) - it would be M&A target screening, and a lot of commercial and financial due diligence
