Teach for America & Consulting

So I am graduating from college in 4 weeks (I am freaking out I can't believe it is here) and I have been offered a very unique position to work for TFA for 2-3 months at a summer institute as an operations coordinator, NOT A TEACHER!!.
Is this internship worth doing before moving the NYC and consulting for Accenture Strategy? (Already committed to my full time gig and I start after the TFA commitment would be over).
For those of you who are going to tell me to travel or explore the world - unfortunately, my parents are not willing to fund my pipe dreams of back packing around Europe/Latin America/SE Asia etc...
I see this opportunity as my chance of exploring a new part of the USA and exploring a passion that I may want to explore after consulting.
Thoughts?
Does the TFA name carry any sort of weight? Or any sort of prestige?
I wouldn't bother, unless you simply think you'll enjoy it. Most of us are going to fall in the camp of "enjoy the time off now, you're going to wish you had it later".
Your next job isn't going to care about internships, just your school info and what you did for Accenture.
To be honest I applied to TFA after I got the full time offer from ACN. I thinkit is something I could actually genuinely enjoy.
Or I could hang out on the East Coast with my dad and fix up a sailboat and enjoy living on the beach??
I hope this won't come across too harshly but I honestly feel that people like you are part of the problem with TFA. Impacting the education system the way the program does (taking a paid position that could be given to an educational professional that permanently wants to be in teaching) feels pretty wrong when you're evaluating the program based on its name and prestige. If you truly want to give teaching a chance to be a life long passion, then there shouldn't be any hesitancy on your part to do it before Accenture. I mean it's only a 3 month investment to potentially find your calling.
Getting down to brass tacks...do the Teach for America, great bullet point on resume for MBA apps down the road and the M/B/B clan eats that up (though I know it is not a teaching position). Additionally, you can enhance your network immediately coming out of undergrad.
Consulting hours are no joke. Enjoy the time off while you have it.

Chill out and enjoy your summer. You'll never have this much free time again. Besides, you seem to not really have a passion for teaching. Let that position go to a kid who needs it to pay bills or get a TFA offer full time. If you want to give back, you can surely find something in your hometown community to make an impact.
