Accounting experience how much is enough?
Hi all,
I am curious to know how much accounting is enough/needed to scale the Corporate Finance ladder up to VP/CFO level? I asked because I have noticed that some our Finance VPs rely heavily on the regional controller/CAO for reporting/analysis to understand FS variances. I have personally founded very advantageous on my current role, although I am not in a directly accounting related position, to expand my real-world practical knowledge of accounting to better understand and more intelligently deal with our operations and improve process. Is it worth continuing to pursue further accounting related knowledge even though it is likely that I will never be on a accounting related position?
